    BBC gradually pulled away from Toowoomba in the second half of this rain and mud-soaked fixture after trailing 7-5 at the break. The breakdown battle was intense and evenly fought between the sides, though BBC's superiority on the flanks and out wide allowed for a greater points haul in the end.

    BBC ran out convincing victors in this match, played in heavy rain and on a slick, slippery surface. Despite the conditions, some great rugby was played and skills shown, crowned by a fantastic kick/chase try scored in the second half.

    Toowoomba fell painfully short, missing the conversion for a somewhat dubious try scored on full-time. This match see-sawed the whole way through, with multiple lead changes and seven great tries. An intense and impressive display of schoolboy rugby.

    Brisbane Boys' College (A) - 19 def. Toowoomba Grammar School (H) - 8

    In a climactic match, BBC were able to account for their strong Toowoomba opponents away from home. Despite what the scoreline may suggest, this was a tight match, up for grabs until the final minutes. Having trailed 8-7 at half-time, BBC were able to finish strongly, with a great try near the posts in the dying minutes of the match.

    Toowoomba Grammar School (H) - 26 def. Brisbane Boys' College (A) - 7

    Toowoomba patiently and ably built a good score in this wet and muddy affair. After trailing 19-0 at half-time, BBC were able to match Toowoomba for points in the second half, but it was too little, too late.

    Brisbane Boys' College (A) - 32 def. Toowoomba Grammar School (H) - 14

    BBC journeyed up the mountain to Toowoomba Grammar’s first rain-soaked home round in six years, looking for a result after a mixed pre-season. The breakdown battle was especially fierce. Leading 18-0 at half-time after two tries late in the half, they were able to equal a resurgent Toowoomba Grammar 14 apiece in the second half to eventually run out victors.

    In an intense rematch of the the 2012 'Grand Final', Nudgee proved the more patient and mature of two talent-filled schoolboy rugby sides. After coming back from a half-time deficit, Brisbane Grammar looked set to challenge, before Nudgee were able to snuff that chance out in the final minutes.

    This was an electric game, with plenty of points scored and both sides showing their skills and fire early in the season. Leading with minutes to go, Churchie succumbed to a State High try right on full-time.

    This rain-soaked match saw two sides desperately trying to string together the phases, but lacking match fitness in round one it was just never going to be. Churchie were able to run out 15-0 victors, despite the best efforts of a determined State High outfit.
